April 24, 2019 - A blend of Gros Manseng (70%) and Petit Manseng (30%) harvested quite late (October-November). Destemmed and macerated with the skins for 12 hours. Fermented in old (3-4 yo) oak barrels. Aged for 11 months in oak barrels. 14,5% alcohol.

Quite deep and luminous neon-green color with subtle golden yellow overtones. Very ripe and concentrated nose with aromas of sappy herbal greenness, some sharp green apple tones, a little bit of caramel oak, light leesy tones and a hint of sweet gooseberries. The wine is ripe, dense and full-bodied with a somewhat oily mouthfeel and concentrated flavors of juicy quince, sweet red apples, some honeyed richness, a little bit of stony minerality, light white peach tones, a hint of pithy pink grapefruit bitterness and a vegetal touch of currant leaf. The bracing acidity lends wonderful intensity and sense of structure to the wine. The finish is crunchy, ripe and sappy yet not vegetal with rather long flavors of honeyed richness, some red apples, a little bit of ripe citrus fruits, light quinine bitterness, a hint of tart lemony citrus fruit and a touch of white peach.

A rich, focused and quite complex powerhouse of a Jurançon that is all about power and intensity, yet the wine doesn't come across as heavy and overdone as some dry Cauhapé wines. Stylistically the wine reminds me of a very ripe Furmint with its racy acidity, concentrated fruit and slightly sappy edge. Although 5½ years in age, the wine really doesn't show much or any developed character and I can imagine the wine will continue to develop for a long time. Tons of further potential here. Great value at 15,90€. Highly recommended.

March 23, 2019 - Tried young wines from Jurançon on tastings before and always found them a bit special and hard to match with food with their high acid and intense aromas. Found this one from 2013, wich have been resting in my cellar for some years, and made a perfect match with a fish soup with vegetables, tomatoes an aioli. In my opinion the wine had improved with its tuned down acids which made the balance better.

September 15, 2017 - This wine caught me off guard. Though made of a Manseng Blend and not only petit Manseng, the higher quality variant, the ultra-low quantities per acre for producing this wine cannot be ignored when tasting it. It is intense to a degree that people may not like it. Some of my friends would never drink it at all to accompany dinner, only on its own. Still they love this wine. I find it most interesting and I struggle with food pairing tips.

May 29, 2017 - Great quality, very fruity with oak notes of coconuts and smokiness, medium (+) length
Almost like white Bordeaux, but a bit heavier, nice wine!

April 7, 2017 - Interesting, viscous lemon-lime in the glass. Intense tropical fruits, pineapple, grapefruit, melon. Touch of spicy ginger. Dry, verging on tart grapefruit on the palate. Quite assertive. Interesting; would probably be best left a year or two. Probably robust enough for spicy or exotic food. Just a little heavy footed on its own at the moment.
