April 20, 2024 - Dark in color, dark floral and some pipe tobacco on the nose. Intense core that seemingly goes quite low and has a very pleasant smokiness. Dark, unsweetened chocolate, and some coffee too. Really, really good.

February 18, 2024 - Coffee, chocolate and herbs in the bouquet. On the palate dark berries, herbs and spices, juicy acidity, red berries and in a lovely drinking stage. No real hurry drinking this wine.

January 27, 2024 - Classic. On the first smell you know you are in safe hands. That relaxed oak and leather, but this has life, with mint and chocolate and plum. Fine, mouth coating tannins, it presents as young, with life, but enough maturity to drink with confidence now.

January 23, 2024 - Tasted next to the 1997. More backward and brooding in comparison, especially early on. Over time opening up quite nicely - mix of sweet red and dark fruit, spices, notes of orange peel, tobacco, leather. Great acidity, vibrant and lifted on the palate. Mellow tannins. Very long. Drink or (better) keep. 92-94
