October 7, 2023 - Drank at The Barn blackberry farm. Almost no fruit left. Olive tapenade and licorice. Still nice but nearly over the hill. Fun to try a perfectly stored 21 year old CdP
December 4, 2021 - Brett and raw sewage. It was...unique.
November 13, 2016 - Sehr würzig mit deutlichen animalischen Noten, Wacholder, Pfeifentabak, viel Struktur, saftig mit Extraktsüße, Schokolade, Russisch Leder, viel Zug und Länge.
March 18, 2015 - Light, floral, some herbaceusness. Lether, meaty and some dark chocolate flavours.
July 6, 2012 - Meaty nose, sous bois. Soft in texture and in flavour. A graceful and mature bottle
June 5, 2011 - Animal flavours.
January 12, 2011 - Tasted older then it was. Drank beautifully after decanting 1 h before.
August 2, 2010 - As a disclaimer,I am bias towards Domaine de Pegau and this CDP did not disappoint. The nose was very much based on scents of cedar, wood, and a bit of eucalyptus/mint with blackerry. The palate was light to medium bodied, and a strong oaky note but it still held a nice elegance and smoothness in the mouth. Not overly fruity at all, rather diluted, due to the vintage but still a pleasant drink and definitely ready to go right now. Don't age this any longer.
January 15, 2010 - I was rather nervous in opening this bottle. The Wine Society (a well established and highly regarded wine buying cooperative in the UK see www.thewinesociety.com) suggested the 2002 vintage as a whole rated only 3/7 and the other comments on this site were variable. I was therefore pleasantly surprised by my one bottle of this vintage, bought as part of a mixed case of CDP from The Wine Society. Great colour (garnet) - a real red wine rather than all that horrible purple stuff you get in the supermarket these days; decent legs, spicy on the nose and palate, slightly tart on the palate, and I agree with other people who have commented that it's rather thin with limited length. Nevertheless, an enjoyable glass and not as bad as I was expecting. Mind you the last CDP I had was a 1990 Chateau de Beaucastel, and this wine paled into insignificance in comparison. Mind you, most wines would. As it was part of a mixed case it's hard to judge its value for money. Not a wine I would actively seek out.
== Oustanding!! Opened 2 hours in advance, decanted and waited. Rich and earthy full body. Deep purple colour, full body. On palate is fruit, earth, very gentle acids and just little tanins to finish balanced taste.!! Great wine.
