June 11, 2021 - Drank the last of my 2012 Von Strasser Post Vineyard cab. Just as delicious as the others we drank.
February 8, 2020 - Smooth from first pour. No need to decant.
December 26, 2018 - Wine is aging nicely, classic California Cab style. Tannin is smooth but forward. We drank within minutes of decanting. Most likely would have opened up with a bit more patience and time for oxygen. I have a second bottle, but will most likely wait another year or two before drinking.
June 5, 2018 - Napa Valley & Chalk Hill AVA winery visits - 5/30 & 5/31, 2018: Aromas of red currant, smoked paprika, black tea, clove and cedar. Richly layered red and black fruit on the palate, with tea, spices and tobacco secondary notes. Medium-bodied, velvety palate density, round smooth tannins and full finishing notes. Excellent.
October 1, 2017 - Was a pnp. Upon opening, nose was delightful and taste, deeply complex. Became a bit subdued and muted in the initial hour, losing some of its structural essence. However, I believe it was merely passing thru a dumb phase, and had I decanted, this wine would've been singing Born In The USA its entire way thru.
September 23, 2016 - Nose: very dry and dried dark fruit. Light nose but great direction.
Palate: surprisingly sweet given the nose. And definitely lighter then I would expect. Just not that rich. Nice but not big at all.
