October 10, 2021 - Medium ruby garnet with medium plus optical density and medium reflectivity with slight splashes of diffusivity. Aromas are very nice, with vinous character to be found: light cherry, crushed dried leaves, fresh sweet tobacco, some light balsamic, and a variety of forest meadow and elegant fruit notes swirl around each other. Nice layering and evolution to the nose.

On the palate, full bodied and quite fresh acidity with still present tannins that are rounded and integrated, but provide plenty of structure. Nice density and concentration, with a great clean mouthfeel that is elegant and still rich.

Flavours of red fruits that are just slightly dried on the attack, supported by mixed dried flowers and earthy crushed leaves. Nice complexity on entry. The midpalate sees some tobacco and tar notes add to the evolving fruit, as well as some liquorice and savoury herbal notes in the background toward the final transition. Finishes with really nice length, with light toasty notes, light leather, dusty gravel, and savoury herbal-infused dried red fruits lingering. Overall, intensity is medium to medium plus and complexity is medium.

This is in a really nice spot- evolved to show age, but with still enough primary notes to come across fresh and easy-going. At this point, comes across as an elegant and polished wine that is versatile and fun to drink. Decent value for a classic BdM that has mellowed out to a great spot! Seems ready to drink to me; while there is material to work with, not sure it goes up from here.

September 20, 2021 - Something happened between my case of the 2003 vintage of this wine, which was crystalline, pure, delicate, subtle, and complex, and the production of this modern monstrosity. The 2010 is rich, powerful, high alcohol, and generally overblown. Bummer. It is balanced at the moment, so if you like that kind of thing, I've got 11 bottles for you.

September 2, 2021 - Opened for an hour before drinking. Good nose. A little tight on the palate but got softer as time went on. Nice fruit. Can definitely last a while longer

August 28, 2021 - I liked this BdM if I recall correctly. Cork was rock solid and stained magenta. Decent amount of fruit and wine has not faded or fallen apart at the 11 year mark. A really decent food wine as well, though I don't recall what I had with it. I think it got softer and less tannins next day. This can age further but ready now with a good hour decent, and is good if left in bottle the next day.

August 25, 2021 - Medium red in the glass with no bricking or violet. Cherry, orange peel, violets, and leather on the nose and palate. Firm mid palate that softened a little over time. Nice, expansive cherry finish. Very well balanced and precise.

IMO the 2010 Brunellos need more time.

    Wait 2-5 yrs.
