September 14, 2018 - Petrol and dry, almost like sauvignon blanc with petrol. Doesn't like the combination. Should have opened earlier.
When with petrol favour, like penfolds 51 better.
June 15, 2018 - Petrol, lime, mandarin, orange skin, orange blossom and Cointreau aroma/petrol. Palate frontal with grapefruit, lemon zest, lime and a very fine fennel. Dry and not sweet. Length is medium short and acidity is brief. Another year or two possible. 88
Day two: more pool toy and flatter, more alcohol flavours. 85
December 22, 2017 - Very light color. Distinct notes of petrol on the nose which I didn't care for. Very crisp, dry with light mineral notes.
April 23, 2017 - Pale lemon. Medium intensity nose with aromas of petrol, mushroom, lime peel. On the palate- lime peel, pineapple, minerality, grapefruit. Medium plus acidity and medium alcohol. Lovely dry Riesling, well balanced, pairing well with spicy Asian dish tonight
January 14, 2017 - Beautiful showing for this wine. Lime, high toned honey, minerals, classic Riesling fruit, lowish acid, quite developed, wonderfull balance, Drinks very well now. Certainly outstanding with Thai Beef Salad.
January 8, 2017 - Very forward and gentle. A modern and low acid rendition of the varietal. Gorgeous lime peel fruit, satiny texture, lovely balance. This is drinking very well now.
September 12, 2016 - Outstanding riesling that displays lip-smacking acidity, vivid lime peel character and a touch of gout de petrol. Approachable, despite its currently lean and tight nature - this should improve over the near to mid-term.
May 25, 2016 - While slightly forward in nature, this is still tight and promises much for the future. Crystal clear acidity, great purity and intense concentration. This if fine wine which certainly showed outstanding character this evening.
May 3, 2016 - Leeuwin Estate Tasting and Dinner (EL Ideas Chicago, IL): Initially serve too cold, but after warming up in my hands the wine developed quite nicely.. Floral flowers, pineapple, good feel on the palate and a nice warm up to the evening.
January 18, 2016 - Very fine wine that is rather forward but has excellent varietal character. Wet slate, lime peel and gout de petrol combine in a lowish acid (for riesling) palate with good depth and the potential for improvement with age. 87+
