October 30, 2023 - 12th of 24, pnp, perfect cork and level, unchanged from lovely, nuanced bottle detailed in 2020 note, little upside, 20+ years. VF (18.5).

September 2, 2023 - Late release bottle with the new label. DavidG introduced me to this the first time I met him in Dec 2019. At the time it was the best dessert wine that I had ever had and I sought out a few bottles. This was lovely, although a tad less clean and a bit mushroomy as these old chenins can be sometimes. Perfect color and some thought it too young. With lots of air as the late night went on, I kept going back to it. The mushroom blew off and it got so good and balanced. 95+

July 20, 2023 - Loire Wines of North London (Must & Lees): More of that old Chenin wet wool vibe, but the wine transcended that quality with tremendous lift and a really pure note of tangy marmalade. Very, very long and, despite its age, so lively. Group #2 tonight.

July 20, 2023 - TWS North London - Loire (Must & Lees, N1): Here's where things get really serious. Hay, barley sugar, caramel, apricot, marmalade. Really fresh and vertical, clean as a whistle on the palate with a slightly woody edge. Incredibly vibrant and young. The acidity just scythes through everything and demands another sip. Every element works towards a cohesive whole: sometimes wines just have it and this is fortunately one of those times!

February 12, 2022 - Slightly amber in colour, bright apples and honey on the nose - gorgeous fruit, honey and botrytis on the palate - long and balanced special wine.
