January 12, 2020 - Another good bottle.
December 15, 2019 - Bottles of this wine have ranged from very good to almost undrinkable.
This was one of the good ones.
June 7, 2019 - Rather sharp from VA which never blew off.
Red and blue fruits lurked beneath that, with some unresolved tannins remaining.
June 10, 2018 - Decanted half the bottle for lunch.
On opening, Light cherry, plum & herb on the nose with a faint hint of VA.
First sips are tart with slightly bitter tannins on the palate, and cherries in the background.
A bit more fruit on the nose by the second glass, but remained a bit sharp on the palate thru the bottle.
A hint of chocolate on the nose later on, and a bit of earth/mushroom with dinner.
Not one of the best bottles of this, as there is a good deal of bottle variation from one to the next.
April 25, 2018 - Decanted, minor sediment. Nice fruit aroma. Deep ruby red color.
Ripe plum and black cherry, a bit sharp. Medium bodied.
Modest tannins. Pleasing finish.
Improved substantially over 2 hours. 87-88 pts.
The final glass was returned to bottle and saved for the following night.
Final glass: consumed with cheese/crackers before dinner. Modest improvement from the previous night. 88 pts
November 7, 2017 - Not as well developed as my last bottle.
August 7, 2017 - This bottle was enjoyable from start to finish, with no decant needed.
Blackcurrant and briar up front, followed by blueberry and baking spice. Good acidity, nearly resolved tannins. Nice old school Bordeaux, great QPR.
July 6, 2017 - The last glass is always the best.
March 19, 2017 - This is evolving nicely, still requires a lengthy decant for maximum enjoyment though.
March 1, 2017 - Decanted
Showing aromas of warm gravel and hot brick with notes of earth, French press coffee, dark cherry, currant, plum, herbs and tobacco.
The palate highlights earth, gravel and dust with flavors of coffee, currant, plum, and dark cherry with herbs, tobacco, leather and finally wood that lead through the finish where above moderate tannins play out.
