November 15, 2019 - At lunch in Marseille Restaurant in NYC. Opened and decanted. The nose was fruit. The palate was plum, current, some wood and a little spice. Finish was moderate to long.

January 6, 2018 - Much softer and more approachable than when I tasted it in 8/2017. Delicious now, with primary fruit and floral notes.

August 8, 2017 - Aroma: menthol, wet stone, lavender, red berries.
Palate: mid weight red currant and plum flavors with dry tannin, minerals and wood spice. Cellar for a few more years.

May 1, 2017 - First taste when opening, was sweet cherry wine. After being open for a day, this wine had really developed nicely. Along with the sweeter cherry, now were tastes of darker, bitter cherry. Also, medium to dark berries, nice clean spice and tannin. Mouthfeel is velvety smooth, medium finish. This Mourvedre led blend fits nicely in the middle between Pinot Noir and Cabernet. Maybe there’s a little graphite trying to poke its way in.

The wine seemed to lose a little something on the fourth day open. On the fifth day, it came roaring back. A great balance of tartness, fruit, tannin, and a wonderful, mouth-filling sense of umami. Even if the finish was a bit bitter, it made me want to drink more wine!
