December 20, 2021 - After holding this wine for nearly 4 yrs I was thrilled when I finally opened this gem. This was a gift and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was blown away with this wine. This was one of my 2021 favorites.

On the nose this wine leads with cedar then dark fruit - plum primarily. There is bold structure but with soft tannins. There is a slight sweetness at first but it becomes very dry. There are layers of dense flavor - cedar, plum, black currant and dark fruit. This has a long smooth finish.

My only regret is I only had the one bottle.

February 18, 2015 - 20m in oak, 75% new. Nice depth to the nose, quite textbook with cassis fruit, tobacco leaf and hints of dark chocolate, spices. On the palate firm but ripe tannins, good fruit underneath, fresh. Quite drying towards the finish. A little lean. 89-90+

October 28, 2014 - Greg Sherwood UK Group Visit of Wineries; 10/28/2014-10/29/2014: 60% of CS plantings are on decomposed granite. This has a lot of younger vines that were allowed to ripen fully later.
Deep- garnet. A nose of bright, fresh Cabernet fruit: blackcurrant, cassis and chocolate. The palate reflects the intense nose with plenty of cassis, blackcurrant and a slab of melted chocolate. A smooth, powdery texture, acid vibrancy in the mid palate and satiny tannins that end in a long, winding length make for a delicious wine.
