Community Tasting Notes 9

October 20, 2012 - A very nice bottle of Brunello in a good place devlopmentally but years of life ahead.

May 11, 2009 - deep earthy, musty, tobacco, dark fruit, acid and tannin well balanced

November 28, 2006 - Clean nose, dark ruby color with light ruby rim. Nose was figs and sour cherries (took about 30 mins for fruits to really develop). Palette was smoky and red fruits, medium body, medium acid, high tannin, medium alcohol, medium to long finish. Ready to drink but really should age at least another three years or so...wine could have been closed as aromas were more linear than what I had expected for a wine of this type. $30 for 250ml at Otto in Manhattan.

October 5, 2006 - Red color with mild rust tinge on opening, after 2 hours of decanting, becomes more of a deep ruby. Body on the light side of medium, but with some depth. Nice balance of earth and red fruits, alcohol. Nice with reggiano, pizza but a great cut of meat might overpower it a bit. Pales in comparison to great brunello vintages. Was really nice with chocolate truffles, however - this is not the first time I have felt that Cab Sauv cannot compare with Brunello for matching chocolate- it really is a sublime experience!

October 2, 2006 - Agree with previous tasting notes, this wine needs food. And let it breath for a little while, as it took time to open up and develop. By the end of this bottle we were in love with it, but could use some more time in the bottle.
