September 30, 2022 - I coravined two glasses a week ago, and the wine was delicious. Decanted the balance just now. Heavy sediment, surprisingly. Dark, garnet in color. A rich nose of fully ripe, mostly dark fruit. Maybe some strawberry. This wine is completely balanced with a round but complicated mouth feel. There is sweetness that dominates a spice that’s present. The wine lingers from the top of the mouth to the throat for minutes. Intense. It’s all there.

September 26, 2022 - A much better bottle. Decanted and then let it open for 45 minutes. This bottle built and opened throughout the night. Not a bashful or small wine. Big rounded red fruits. Some of the milk chocolate notes of a ripe bomb. Enjoyable but lacked finesse.

September 11, 2022 - Decanted for two hours before dinner. This is the first bottle I’ve had that shows age at all, a slight bronze color at the rim of an otherwise deep purple wine, and the nose shows tertiary aromas of the forest. Also heaps of black and red fruit, cigar box and leather and wet stones on the nose.

The mouth is again rich with fruit and complex meaty mineral notes. Tannins are pretty well resolved in this bottle (though notably less sediment than previous bottles), but the finish holds on nicely with black cherry and plum flavors and forest spices.

Still needs a decant of at least two hours (and longer would have been better), but I’d say this is in its drinking window now. This bottle suggests another 10-12 years of prime drinking, though previous bottles pointed to a longer arc.

April 21, 2022 - So advanced that I am going to assume it was a one-off bad bottle

February 20, 2022 - Decanted about an hour before dinner of rack of lamb with friends. "Wow". This was everything that I could have expected and then some.
