April 28, 2022 - Deep, rich, big, fruit-forward - lots of time left.
June 6, 2020 - This bottle was fine - I think 2013 was when they crossed the line from boutique to commercial-scale.
December 10, 2017 - The previous bottle I opened a couple of years ago was too fruit forward and had too much residual sugar for me. Those characteristics have since mellowed out quite a bit. However the wine misses other components to make it interesting. Kind of forgettable, but ok for a weekday night with a meal. Not a bad QPR. This used to be around $20 before but have seen in lately for around $17.
September 4, 2017 - A very nice drinking cab. Everything has come together in balance to make this a great drinker at this price point. I recommend it highly.
May 29, 2017 - Same as prior notes. A fully-extracted Cab.
January 1, 2017 - Same notes as 5/27/15:
This Cab had a surprising depth to it you don't see with most Central Coast Cabs. We first tried it at Hahn's tasting room in Monterey County. It is rather robust and fruit forward, would be good with spicy or grilled fare. We found it locally at $17.99, which is a good bargain for a wine of this quality. Should even improve with time, but approachable now. Believe it is made by or in association with Hahn vineyards of Monterey County, thus the quality for the price.
November 11, 2016 - A good wine but lacked true complexity. Needed a lot of time in the decanter. But I think 4 hrs + would have benefited this wine substantially. Good nose and oak. Tannins need to mellow.
October 16, 2016 - Too over ripe. Need to have this with some kind of steak or sausage. I think a couple of years will help this wine. It was much better on the second day.
August 1, 2016 - Really enjoyed,
May 26, 2016 - Excellent oak on nose. Deep purple color. Could use more tannins to balance it out.
