December 14, 2022 - Russk. Got from AL in trade. Would like more. Nice aromatics: wintergreen and sandlewood, and some slavonian oak. I can feel the 14% ABV but it seems in balance. Mouth, like the nose, plus some chalky sour cherry. I agree with the previous 2 or 3 reviewers. I must like this producer as I have enjoyed many bottles of the 2012. Keep a eye out for more Boca and more Davide Carlone (producer).

March 23, 2021 - OK, I admit it - I love this stuff. Cheaper than Barolo for the level of quality, also cheaper than my even more loved Valtellinas, this wine was just singing at the table. Bright, still sharp and focused, red fruit, earth (lots of it), tannins smoothing out, great finish.

    Even better day two.

Last tasted in Dec 2020, still drinking nicely. May be my last bottle :(

February 6, 2021 - First bottle of this I’ve tried. Fantastic. Opened three hours before drinking. Started out with limited bouquet, but plenty of fruit and acidity. Held up well against pasta with garlic and chilies. Later in the evening I was getting cherry bouquet and a deeper flavor, maybe a little blood? Anyway, terrific wine at any price point. Glad I have a couple more. Time to learn more about Boca...

December 3, 2020 - Delish. High toned fragrant, medium bodied nebbie that hits the middle ground between serious and fru fru. Great QPR.

Last tasted a little over a year ago. Holding up and continuing to develop nicely.

May 15, 2020 - Wow! Just opened and enjoyed. Had with some stuffed shells, Martha Stewart, recommended. The wine was lovely, rich and full, with a lovely finish, a slight bitterness. Some of Carlone’s Crotina has sometimes too much astregent bitterness, but the Boca was spot on, last bottle, I could cry! Yum.
