Community Tasting Notes 11

March 5, 2021 - Very austere, high acidity. Will please the masochist rather than the hedonist. Fruit is thin but at times it shines through; red and mostly quite tart, cherries, lingonberry, rowanberry.

July 20, 2019 - Wine Tasting Group - Farewell to Rae - July 20, 2019 (Michael's M's home): 100% Pinot Noir. Aged for 4 years in barrel prior to release. Floral aromas accompanied by bright cherries, raspberries, and a hint of medicinal notes that adds interest. Bright red cherries on the palate w earth, herbs, mild black pepper and bark. Moderate tannins with nice acids on midpalate on a medium weight frame.

April 27, 2019 - Quite light, somewhat peppery, very slight oak, elusive, medium-ripe cherries, some lingonberries, hint of anise. Lacking power too much in my book.

May 13, 2017 - Nose and palate dominated by sour cherries; there's quite some structure and freshness to this bottle, but not enough fruit. Style is Jura natural wines (used or no oak), a style I usually appreciate, but the fruit material just isn't there to deliver imho. Into the sauce it goes. And we'll open a more serious bottle for dinner. Among previous trackers, Lilja gave a spot on description.

January 10, 2017 - Pale ruby, a warm-red nuance. Nice old-school "piedmontese" development on the nose: light VA, balsamic notes, red berries, dried cherries, dried roses, earth, liquorice, leather, sous-bois. Bone dry, with fairly light body, yet firm grip. High-ish acidity, medium alcohol, astringent tannins. Good length. An honest, slow-wine expression, which needs time and food. Will surely keep for several years more.
