    January 11, 2019 - Pale ruby colour.
Nose: Cherry and sweet dark plum fruitiness, slightly sweet old wood, elegant earthiness and dried cigar leaves. With air the nose unfolds and becomes both intense and elegant, really “perfumed”. Lovely nosing wine (91 p)
Taste: Mature but tart, fresh fruitiness with tart & sweet cherries, ripe plums and rhubarb. (88p)
This 14 year old Barbera shows more complexity on the nose than on the palate. It is mature and probably close to its peak, but I would not say that it has passed it. It will probably continue to drink nicely over the next 1-3 years but I would advice to drink it now rather than keep it.
    Total score 89 points.

  • SAND Likes this wine:

Smak: Fast, middels fruktig, ganske kraftig barbera.

August 8, 2012 - Nose is a bit more muted than before, but still hints of dark cherries and leather. Palate is as good as ever -- with big dark fruit, a nice bite of acid that balances it well. Still bright -- so Rinaldi at 8 yrs is still a strong bet. (Unfortunately, not offered in the U.S.)

October 11, 2011 - Leather and cherries as before on nose - rich. Still bright and delicious, with dark fruit flavor with good acidic quality. Great balance. No sign of getting tired.

March 24, 2011 - Dark cherries and earth on the nose. Tobacco and dark barbera fruit with a real acid bite to balance the rich fruit and dark flavors. Lovely balance. I'm moving due date back a year, since 2011 is too soon. Could even be later than 2012.
