April 23, 2020 - Dominated by licorice on the nose.
Very firm tannins it has several years of potential ahead
April 11, 2020 - Drank well over the course of several nights. Good with food or without. Not the richest or deepest Sangiovese I've ever had, but a nice wine and good QPR.
March 26, 2020 - Corked
December 20, 2019 - Opened a magnum Very nice but not breathtaking
November 2, 2019 - Opened to breathe for 4h. Beautiful perfumy nose of leather, alcohol, and white pepper. On the palate vibrant red cherries, plums, oak, leather, round delicious mouthfeel, solidly medium bodied. The acid is there, of course, hiding with soft tannins in the long finish. Plenty of life left, but sadly my last bottle. Seems improved relative to my previous note, two and a half years ago. What a great value! 93/94
May 26, 2019 - Too young to drink... decanted 4 hours and still not ready... closed with leather notes. After a violent shaking in decanter it started to give some fruit and acidity. Hold for 5 more years.
May 19, 2019 - This had all the stuffing but very tight. After about 2 hours the black fruits and smoked meat started coming through. I'll hold the remaining bottles and revisit after a few years.
February 1, 2019 - Decanted. Dark ruby color with clarity. Dark herbs, spices and florals on the nose - paprika, thyme, lavender with baked fig fruit and hints of graphite. Dark, brooding and a bit alcoholic on opening, it hits its stride with air, showing dark fig, berry and citrus rind notes and secondary earth, spice, graphite and almond savoriness. Tightly wound flavors on the front palate open with air, the middle fills out with rich layers, with ample acid and huge tannins, albeit with nice flesh and polish. Undeveloped depth on the finish. Nice potential. Needs a time. Hold, or give it a long decant.
December 17, 2018 - Drinking well.
August 24, 2018 - BYOB - FIFA World Cup, Finewines.se (Sollentuna, Sweden): Lactic acid, green, way too young to be drunk now, lots of air helps but will surely benefit from cellaring. High acidity, massive tannins. Served blind I ended up with a young Tannat from Madiran.
