April 17, 2024 - Definitely should move to a caraffe to assist in removing solids from this 12 year old wine.
Dark red/ruby color, no hint of orange.
From first inhale you can tell this is going to be nice. Dark fruit/berries, very ripe cherries, blackberry …
Nice mouth feel, warm shortbread, more ripe cherry, very slight tang, finish goes on for a while as tannins have softened since my last tasting.
Really enjoy this wine. Just want to sip it all night. Does not need a paring, but went well with lobster ravioli. -

December 16, 2023 - Opened, poured and let sit 45 min. Then: Some darkish fruit on the nose.
First sip is cool darkish-redish fruit; not over-ripe or extracted; nice balance; acidity and tannins not an issue; decent structure; medium intensity mouthfeel; long finish; no particular cabernet profile. At about the 1hr mark from first sip, maybe a touch of sweet fruit; finish still long, but some warmth now (maybe the 15.2 abv) and some drying tannins. Neither the warmth nor the tannins are particularly problematic, but you know they are there. Nice enough wine, but based on this bottle, over-hyped. As with some other recent notes, I wouldn't wait much longer to drink. -

December 9, 2023 - Another stellar bottle of this wine. I'd say to drink this up now as it's lost a touch of body since my last bottle 2 years ago (I'd call it silky now). So smooth and seamless though. A great QPR.

September 8, 2023 - Dark red edge to edge. Plums and cherries on the nose. Smooth and elegant on the palate, black cherries, blackberries, leather, cedar, licorice. Smooth tannins. Great acidity and balance. Finishes long and smooth with chocolate, cherries and licorice. Lovely Cab. Probably at peak. Drink for next 5 to 6 years.
