January 28, 2022 - Benefited from a 90 min decant. Rich cassis and loamy Oakville aromas and flavors on display. Plush, mature and well balanced. I didn't hear any wow comments or expressions around the dinner table but several were reaching for the decanter. Limited complexity and finish.

November 28, 2021 - Holy crap this is drinking so much better than two years ago. Fully integrated tannins. Wonderful dark fruit. Robust mouthfeel. Drink now!

July 21, 2021 - Bold fruit and oak on the nose, deep dark big boy of a wine with a thick body but silky texture as well. Lots of fun and probably could have benefitted from a longer decant. Plenty of time to drink.

March 20, 2021 - Still the color of midnight with initial aromas of tar, scorched earth & blackberry purée more reminiscent of a Concha Y Toro Don Melchor than a NV CS.

Stewed plums and blackberries, with a vein of red fruit running through combine with well endowed tannins to make for an intriguing mouthfeel.

Still dense & muscle bound, this wine will be long-lived. The question I pondered with each sip was will this evolve during its extended tenure? Like a well guarded secret, it did not give up even the slightest clue.

December 3, 2020 - Boy, this got better with age and I’m crying now since this is my last bottle. Looking at my previous note, I get wet gravel and still the blueberry aura. The fruit now has receded a touch and you get a cherry and blueberry jam brûlée. The licorice and suede ending is pronounced. Outstanding mouth feel - a real luxury wine.
