June 16, 2023 - Nose: greenness, dark fruits, spices, crushed rose, cherries, hints of licorice
Notes: this Richebourg certainly showed plenty of greenness which is typical of the vintage together with some dark fruits and hints of spices. Although Richebourg from any maker would guarantee some level of finesse or complexity but I can't say this was the special one that would give you craving to open another bottle. This wine is mature and opening up nicely so I don't think additional cellar is necessary for this particular wine. This might be one of the less outstanding samples from Gros Freres et Souer from this appellation comparing to other vintages.

September 17, 2022 - The nose simply draws you in. Rose petals, dried flowers, menthol and forest floor. It is silky in the mouth. It lacks the richness of the great years but balance is good and it is ethereal and engaging. The finish is minerally and expressive, with spicy persistence. A crowd pleaser.

December 6, 2019 - A Birthday Celebration (Taste 222 - Chicago IL): Mature red fruit, clearly still holding its own, but an unmistakable 2004 bitter note on finish. Otherwise, very good balance and good weight.

September 30, 2013 - Much improved since release, and neither green nor oaky, so there go all those preconceptions. This is true Richebourg, full and with a big footprint, but at the same time plush and velvety, seems really to have fleshed out in the cellar. The scents are all cinnamon and spice, nothing green or stalky at all (though I did find it veering towards more of the mocha-oak side of things in the leftovers the next day). It clamped up a bit with air, but again that flex of its muscle is textbook Richebourg.
