July 9, 2022 - Casual theme at Dibbs's: Surprisingly light-footed for a Corton with a perfumed nose, not as unyielding as expected for this producer but over time the tannins began to show, and the wine became more brooding and shut. Definitely nowhere near ready to go..

    December 25, 2021 - Appearance: pale garnet.
Nose: medium plus intensity; aromas of hawthorn, toast, lavender, herbs, earth, sandalwood, red plum, red currant. It’s developing.
Palate: dry, high acidity, medium plus tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus flavour intensity, the flavours are well defined and very much the same as on the nose. The finish is medium plus.
Overall, very good wine. Can drink now, and has potential for further ageing.
The wine is elegant in style but also has some wildness particularly on the nose, wild berry, earthy, herbs. Certainly intriguing! The flavour intensity is great with lingering finish. The wildness could be polarising as I love it but my wife hates it. At the moment, the wine still has some rough edges which need decanting before it opens up. Anyway, it is one more reason for me to drink more.

We opened the bottle and decant for 3 hours in the bottle. The wine opens up beautifully on the nose with perfume notes. My wife changed her mind this time. She loves it!

June 29, 2020 - Nose: plums, blackberry, spice and earth
Palate: black cherry, mineral, forest floor with medium plus acidity and medium plus finish.

Overall this was quite lovely. A hint of dryness on the finish but that should resolve in the next 1-2 yrs but this is accessible now and a pleasure to drink. Enjoy!!

March 4, 2019 - Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Auxy, Beaune, Savigny, Corton (Bishopscourt): (Tasted Blind): A medium- to light crimson/ruby. Visually alluring. A light, fresh, aromatic profile that improved with exposure to air. Black fruits dominate, showing black cherry over plum. With fair intensity and ripeness on entry, the wine exhibits some flesh black cherry, but its vibrant acidity makes it feel leaner in the mid-palate. This is compounded by austere tannins which the fruit struggles to balance out. Flavours of iodine and dry spice creep in that distract and there is a distinct whole-cluster (pepper and spice) towards Maceration Carbonique quality that renders the wine rather one-dimensional. The wine also falls short in length as the austere tannins garner some bitter qualities.

March 5, 2016 - La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Pure cherry dominates the nose with charming fruit and background spice plus earth hints. Elegant flavors show lots of restraint with sneaky structure giving lift. Good now because of its overall balance, but with the bones to age gracefully over a couple of decades.
