    February 13, 2024 - Dark garnet.
Nose evolves over several hours but is quite dark and heady, secondary soy elements, sweat and leather predominate with a subtle background feminine breeze of David Austin roses and complex spice.
Robust, concentrated palate, quite tannic and saline, giving a very masculine impression to begin with, but following 4 hours open begins to reveal some feminine elements of dark cherries, chinotto, cardamom spice, citrus, but at this stage still very sturdily framed. Gives the impression that good things are is store with 10+ more years of patience…

December 31, 2021 - A lovely delicate wine. First tasted after 1.5 hours from opening. Got better after 3-4 hours. A wine with great balance and finesse from a first class producer Delightful

August 14, 2021 - I am going to give the 13 Barthod Chatelots some credit I think it’s due - this does take an hour of air to really show itself but when it does, what a classic, beguiling Chambolle. Full of cherry, roast pigeon, nutmeg, and blood; airy yet potent with a wonderful acidic tang. Drink with air, by all means - if you have a few. Otherwise hide them away a while longer.

August 27, 2019 - In Depth Rosenthal Burgundy Tasting (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): More mushroom evident on the nose, darker, sweet liqueured strawberry and cherry, plum and cherry, very nice wine just outclassed in this flight.
