January 14, 2015 - Evaluating Bouchard Père & Fils: 2012s and earlier vintages (Ripple Restaurant in Washington D.C.): I am not sure about this particular bottle as it seemed just a bit musky on the nose. Far better on the palate, with - again - that high 2008 acidity that was more pronounced here as the previous wine, made from Chardonnay, conveyed a smoother palate.
January 14, 2015 - 2012 Bouchard dinner with Panos – Mostly Bouchards (Ripple Restaurant in DC): Baked unripe apple, tar, lime, dirty cellar and oxidized apple peels. Good concentration, really acidic, jammy red fruits, a lot of mousse and oxidative/damp cellar note that clips the finish short. Perhaps not a representative bottle but seems like a poor QPR.
