September 26, 2021 - Decanted through Vinturi and drank over about 2 hours. Really last hour showed best with dark fruit, plum, gravel, tar, and a bit of Rocks funk. Well balanced and probably not much room for improvement, imo, but still plenty of life. Drink (with decant) or hold.

September 15, 2021 - This seems a bit disjointed. Not flawed, but a bit pedestrian. Some nice laser like cherry and wood notes on the nose. Smooth attack but the mid palate to finish jumps around a bit. Some bitterness dominates, along with blackberry and cherry flavors. This does seem to get a bit better after two hours or so in the glass. Some more subtle black pepper and savory notes. I don’t get much rocks funk as some others do, but maybe I inappropriately use Cayuse, and to some extent Rotie Reynard and Delmas as a benchmark.

Update 2 days later. This has come together quite nicely. No more bitterness. Smooth dark fruits and savory notes. Not the dunk of the rocks but I am not sure if this is from the rocks. Went very well with lamb burgers. Upping this from 88 to 90. Will wait at least two more years until my next and last one

July 8, 2021 - A lighter syrah from the rocks. I call it "light funk".
Clear, actually more garnet at this point, with medium depth and meniscus.
Nose is plentiful. Brick is first. Fruits are Raspberry, blueberry and blackberry. With herbaceous tones - tomato leaf and vanilla as well.
Palate has Med+ body. More savory than fruity, with olive, tomato leaf, rose and gravel all weighing in. Finish is of iron and flitters into herbaceous notes.
Length and complexity Med+. Drinking well now.

October 1, 2020 - Delicious over 2 days. Good expression of Syrah, but mellowed.
