November 1, 2020 - With a 1 hour decant, I was a little disappointed with this one. It was delicious but I didn't get the wide range of flavors I was hoping for. WELL, after another couple of hours, it really opened up. There are bold berry flavors, some spice and charcoal, and now an excellent finish. I think SLH syrah is a sleeper AVA.

March 25, 2020 - This is a stellar wine that could easily sell for 3-4 times the current price. I picked this up on winebid for $25 and it blew away most of the other wines that i opened this week that were multiples the price. The nose is more subtle then the palate giving off aromas of wood-chips, black fruits and some hints of black pepper. The taste is more explosive with blue/black fruits with a good balance of acidity with a strong, though not that long of a finish. I'd say this would drink beautifully for 5 years. This won't have the long life of the major central coast Syrah's but it is right up there is flavors right now.

December 19, 2019 - Opened and started drinking half an hour later. Crushed berries, wild flowers, mint, redwood aromas. Nice acidity with silky tanins - blueberries, red plums, black fruit, iron, charcoal. Wonderful SLH Syrah.

November 27, 2019 - This is high octane stuff, but well balanced. Blue fruit, aromatic, silky, and medium long finish. This drinks well now, but should hold steady or even improve over next several years.
