April 8, 2018 - From a selection of 2 barolo and 3 cabs this was the wotn for most of the group. I didn't share that opinion. Decanted for 4 hours but took another couple of hours to really show its stuff. Perhaps I had unreasonable expectations but, for me, it didn't live up to what I thought it should be.. still others raved about it so perhaps just my taste or lack of:) 94+ Drank with: 2006 Aldo conterno colonnello barolo, 06 einaudi cannubi barolo, 09 darioush cab, 09 sbragia Rancho del oso cab, 98 raymond generations cab.

September 23, 2017 - Deep ruby fading to tawny. Hefty nose showing off brewed tea, blood and tar. Sweet and spicy. Still dense and layered with a velvety texture.

November 12, 2010 - Masi Amarone with Tony Apostolakos, US Director of Masi Agricola (Vinopolis, Portland, OR): Richer, thicker than the 2001. Creamy, soft, milk chocolate, and soft dark red fruit on the nose. The palate is big and balanced, delicious really, showing some pleasing soft dark fruits. Really tasty. Some alcohol kicks up on the finish, spice, and there's a little alcoholic zing that stays with me, and keeps this one from reaching higher. If it weren't for the distraction of the alcohol, this could be really enjoyable.

April 14, 2010 - Decanted. Sampled multiple times during the night. Stayed consistent over a few hours. I probably would not have decanted. Very nice wine, deep red, ripe black currants, nice finish. One of my favorites of the night.
