January 27, 2024 - 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (J&S’s): Blind. Dark color with notes of pepper, roasted game and black fruit. Has a wild, almost feral quality, with a slight mineral tone as well. Balanced, with abundant dark fruit and spice on the palate. Adds a lovely floral top note as it breathes in the glass. Delightful.

This had been double decanted off its sediment 2.5 hours before the flight was poured. Drinking well with air, but there's plenty of life left yet- now to 2027 easily.

August 28, 2021 - 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (EBCC): Blind. Aromas of black raspberry and dark fruit with roasted game and pepper undertones. Medium-bodied. Abundant dark fruit on the palate with spice carrying through the finish. We were perhaps halfway through the flight when I suspected this might be our mourvedre.

This had been double decanted about ninety minutes before the flight was poured. An excellent wine and drinking nicely right now.

August 4, 2019 - Dark, serious berry core. Ripe but not overripe. Savory flavors, almost saline. A spike of heat and fine but firm tannin on the finish still. Delicious, but I'd still give it some time. Potential to improve a point or so. Don't know if these wines will go long term with this level of ripeness, but I'm certain they are good for at *least* four or five more.

September 29, 2018 - Decanted 1/2 hr. Consistent tastes of red & dark (plum) fruits. Quite tasty.

September 24, 2018 - How I love thee? Let me count the ways...I love this 100% Mourved. Deep, dark, unctuous, and positively yummy. How often am I allowed to drink this?
