October 4, 2023 - First of two. Presents as flat, generic black fruit, with no varietal character and very little nuance or depth. Totally drinkable, but very disappointing given the producer and price point. Will plan to hold the second bottle several more years to see how it develops.
November 13, 2022 - Deep purple with moderate legs. Dark raspberry, chocolate, coffee, cured tobacco; minimal to no green pepper/vegetal nose. There are similar tastes with full mouthfeel and nicely resolving tannins running through to the finish. Nice example of a warm-site cab franc. More than adequate QPR.
December 3, 2020 - A very nice Cali Cabernet Franc. Lots of cherries and plums with a hint of pine and savory flavors. Enjoyable, good firm tannins that are well integrated. Very nice wine from a family owned winery in Napa.
September 23, 2020 - Fruit evident in both nose and ant the front. The alcohol level was evident but softened over time ( I didn’t decant). I was reminded of how nice this is to the regular cab Sauvignon
November 16, 2018 - Solid effort, good fruit. Enjoyable by itself with a bit of cheese.
October 2, 2018 - Still excellent. Very similar to last bottle.
August 2, 2018 - Similar notes as previous but not quite the same oomph on PnP.
May 12, 2018 - fleshy big jammy wine. More like a California cab than a cab franc. No tannins to speak of and the heat of the 14.9 alc was evident.
April 3, 2018 - 3rd of 9 bottles bought from the winery. Very thin, almost "wine water". Very disappointing from a great producer in a very solid vintage. Dumping the rest!
December 1, 2017 - nothing special about the Cab. Franc. A bit of vegetable up front, a decent mid-pallet and no end. I'll pass on buying anymore.
