March 22, 2024 - PnP, drank over two nights. Still very fresh and herbal. Nice acidity, moderate tannins, alcohol well balanced. This was my last bottle, but I am reminded that Alban consistently produces wonderful wines.
March 18, 2024 - In the zone. Great on pop and pour but continued to improve over time in the glass.
Nose is stacked; iodine, tar, violets, light charcuterie, blueberry, blackberry jam. Peppermint patties - a tasting note offered in a WA review that 100% tracks.
Palate hides the 15.4% alcohol. It’s rich yet elegant. Lots of fruit concentration, even a hint of Rioja-esque dill from the oak. This still has the fruit concentration of its youth. 94-95.
July 2, 2022 - Blueberries, floral and spice in the nose. Blackberries, blueberries, chocolate, licorice, and spice in the flavor. Full bodied, well balanced, and a medium to long finish.
June 18, 2022 - in a great spot right now. go drink it and get that pure black fruited beauty!
May 19, 2022 - 6 years since I tried the last one of these. It is finally ready to go. Drank a restaurant with half an hour of slow-o. Rich and leathery, with tobacco and some star anise. Surprisingly however plenty of primary fruit still left. I never thought I'd see it evolve to this. I presumed The fruit would go before the harder edges. Couldn't be more happy. Drink up.
September 19, 2021 - Aerated with a Vinturi and decanted for 30 minutes. Nose of blackberry, plum, gamey meat, anise and vanilla. Black fruit, gamey meat, licorice, and fine tannins on the palate. Lingering finish. Full bodied. Served with grilled, marinated tuna steak.
March 13, 2021 - Still awesome. Deep stewed black fruits and fine grained tannins.

August 15, 2020 - Decanted for 30 minutes. Nose of blackberry, blueberry, smoked meat, vanilla and spice. Jammy black and blue fruit, smoked meat, vanilla, spice and fine tannins on the palate. Long, layered finish. Full bodied. Served with smoked Texas-style beef ribs.
August 15, 2020 - Nice bouquet. Rich palate. Good with the food (lamb).
