November 10, 2021 - Five wine friends and two guests (Restaurant Olivijn (Michelin star) Haarlem, The Netherlands): Ripe apples, a hint of mint, a whiff of apricots, minimal oxidation, lovely citrus, gentle bitters and a very long aftertaste; still alive and kicking (legends never die).

August 27, 2021 - Utregs Wijnhuis Wijnproeverij Exclusief (Utregs Wijnhuis): [Blind tasted] - Not identified as a Chenin Blanc. What a joy and for me the clear WOTN. Great old chenin profile: oxidative, honey, wool. Keeps evolving in the glass

August 6, 2021 - 10th of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, another super bottle, rich quite fresh, but proper dry wine, nuance developing nicely, no rush. VF (18.5)......these 96s have proved excellent and reliable unlike the deeply flawed 97s!!!!

July 16, 2020 - Opened 21 hours before tasting... but corked back!

Nose of apple and stone fruit with slight ginger and mineral. Palate fresh and high acidity. Very high compexity even better than other red wines on the table. Second round from bottle, however, became closed and unbalanced. But the complexity still remained. A little disappointed.

January 5, 2020 - Young, fresh, delicious. I was expecting there to be oxidation, but this was young, concentrated and a real treat. Sadly my last bottle.

November 23, 2019 - Very tight, took about an hour to start drinking well. Intense and driven, terrific tension. Delicious and unique.

November 4, 2019 - First time with a Joly. Really interesting and fun wine but agreed it was not a great bottle. Was quite advanced and while it did improve over the course of a few hours it didn’t improve over the course of a day beyond that. Some signs of seepage on this one too. I think as a rule I’ll cellar my own Joly
