Community Tasting Notes 11

April 26, 2021 - Pretty and pure dark fruit and floral notes on the nose. Front palate brings more sweet fruit, but it turns dry and grippy pretty quickly. Finish leaves the mouth under assault from grainy, drying tannins. A wine with two faces.

December 13, 2020 - Showed as being quite tannic on initial PnP, settled down with vigorous swirling in the glass and some extra air. Consumed over four hours, it was definitely showing the best towards the end. Drink now or hold a few more years.

March 22, 2020 - Villa Creek as a wine producer has matured over the years and we loved this wine after it had some age on it. A truly delightful, well balanced, flavorful wine from Paso Robles. Drink within the next two years.

January 11, 2018 - My experience was different than others. Harsh tannins, I could not enjoy the bottle. This is surprising because it is 50% Grenache, so it should have been smoother especially in light of a couple years of aging. I bought it in 2014. I will never buy Villa Creek again.

    50% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 2% Mourvedre, 15.0% ABV, 400 cases
