August 13, 2022 - Last of 2 bottles, last consumed 3.5 yrs ago. Seems tired, low levels of fruit, consume now.

March 17, 2022 - A lot of red and blue fruit, a ton of acidity and a nice tart (though smooth) finish. Who knows really, but there is still so much fruit and acidity I could see this going another 10 years easy.

February 4, 2022 - Bought in absence of a second bottle of 2012 Soter North Valley Ribbon Ridge. Good to try them side-by-side. This one's more cherry Cola while the Soter is a bit earthier. Prefer the Soter and Oregon Pinot in general versus California.

April 24, 2021 - At first there is really fine and expressive pinot fruit with some sweet cola on the finish. Juicy and just the right distance from bold. Good freshness, mostly black fruit spectrum. Some really lovely spicy complexity. Palate feels like a hundred dollars. Structure has mellowed just fine. Drinking well right now.
Day 2 the vanilla, cream, cinnamon and cola notes are mostly gone - instead a more serious and structured aromatic profile with licorice and black tea, some twigs (undergrowth) and much more savory and lean. Maybe there is dark plum in there somewhere as well. I really liked the transformation and the development although is was really tasty right after we opened it too. Suggests that you can hold for a while longer but not if you want your Cali pinot on the sweet side.
Unmistakably Californian and made in a big pinot style - but still a really nice piece of winemaking here.
