April 20, 2019 - One of my favorite CdP’s and extremely consistent from vintage to vintage. Still young and pure. Fantastic aromas of smokey crushed blue and red berries, garrigue, baking spices, licorice, vanilla, and earthy herbs.. Focused depth and concentration with solid acidity, which should support further development over the longer term. Very long and persistent finish. Excellent.

February 15, 2019 - Very primal. First sip after PnP was alcoholic and even a little sour. But after an hour in glass, started to open up. Still mostly showing primary flavors of deep red fruit. This really needs time but I got a few pretty cheap it was worth testing out.

November 17, 2018 - Winebar [4 Whites, 8 Reds, & 4 *shared* bottles] from 11/16/18] (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Commonly 65% old Grenaches, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, & 5% Cinsault coming from different soils (sandy, pebbly, red clayey), located in the northern part of the appellation & in the La Crau plot. 80% destemmed, aged for 12 mos 80% in vat and 20% in barrels (1/3 new).

    N: Garrigue, berries, poss vanilla

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with nice, ALMOST swtish frt met by some astringent pucker which loses most of its bite by the LONG, very, VERY slightly spicy finish with a bitter/swtness (35:65) to the dusty tannins. For now (IF one can ignore the early/mid-P structure), & should at least approach its 10th. My VG+/EXC-. 92 pts WS, 91 ea WA & Vinous, 90 Jeff Leve, 16.5/20 ea Vinum, Gault & Millau, La Revue du Vin de France, & Jancis Robinson, and 3/5* drinkrhone.com . [This vendor's $29.95 is NOW $20 < the next lowest of wine-searcher's limited U.S. sources!]

Note: With now *six* TNs for this [2016 (12/17), 2017 (3/4), and 2018 (5/26, 6/23, 10/13, & 11/17), I think most would either find it "ready" now or within the next few mos. ;)

October 13, 2018 - Red Châteauneuf-du-Papes (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): Commonly 65% old Grenaches, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, & 5% Cinsault coming from different soils (sandy, pebbly, red clayey), located in the northern part of the appellation & in the La Crau plot. 80% destemmed, aged for 12 mos 80% in vat and 20% in barrels (1/3 new).

N: Straws, poss red rasps, with notes of garrigue

P: LM, poss Med, body; NICE frt met by puckerish astringency which morphs into a LONG, very, VERY slightly tangy finish with notes of swtness to the dusty tannins. NEEDS through '19, then easily making its 10th. My VG+/EXC-. 92 pts WS, 91 ea WA & Vinous, 90 Jeff Leve, & 16.5/20 ea Vinum, Gault & Millau, La Revue du Vin de France, & Jancis Robinson, and 3/5* drinkrhone.com . [This vendor's $29.95 is NOW a *stunning* $29 < the next lowest of wine-searcher's limited U.S. sources!]

Note: At least with respect to needed cellaring time, this tasting probably had more in common with my 2nd tasting [3/4/2017] than the ones on [12/17/2016, 5/26/2018, & 6/23/2018].
