August 22, 2019 - Tasted at Penfolds Magill Estate, Adelaide. 40 Vintages of Grange: Much like the '99 this is a well resolved, beautifully balanced Grange. There was an orange chocolate note on the nose that reminded me of Allen's Jaffas. Absolutely ready to drink now.

July 7, 2019 - Highly aromatic on the nose, menthol and spicy, with a distinct porty waft. Some chocolate and quite a bit of VA.
Heavy and sweet fruit on the palate, more port here, with coffee and dark chocolate.
Seems a bit disjointed at first but pulls together with some time in the glass.
Subtle in ain't, and if you you love the full old school Oz shiraz experience then I think Rockford Basket Press does it better for a fraction of the price.

January 21, 2019 - the rating is given with the condition of more cellaring, for me at least. Has power but lacked finesse of the 88.

January 20, 2019 - Bottle breathed for 5 hours before serving. Violets, pepper, herbs and spice flowing throughout the nose and palate. Very balanced with lots of underlying spice. Ethereal and light on its feet.

December 11, 2018 - Acker BYO 2018 (Tribeca Grille): So I am a big believer that Grange needs time and this was a good example of that. At this point it's a bit disjointed. The oak is still there. The alcohol is still there. There's some fruit and menthol and eucalyptus, but it's covered a by those first two parts. Give it time.
