September 20, 2018 - I score this 92 points on day 2 or day 3 after opening, but fresh out of the bottle, it is just too tight and astringent. Too much pepper on the finish too. However, it is built to last and will warrant a much better score with some age.

April 27, 2018 - PNP. cork perfect. color garnet. nose is spice cherry and earth. swishing shows both acid and some prominent tannin. whoo. still has enough fruit density when sipping to mask most of the tannin but it peeks out a little at the end. good length. i expect positive evolution with time in cellar

September 24, 2016 - Nuits St. Georges Tasting (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting, brief note. black cherry aromas with anise, black pepper and dried herbs. Black cherry flavors with some red hints. Good spice start. Firms up now at finish with a mineral notes. Needs to 2020 or later in the cellar. Very good concentration gives me optimism for its potential as if softens.

September 8, 2016 - Similar to previously tasted bottle. Excellent.

May 19, 2016 - Shows nice ripe fruit with medium to medium plus acids underneath. While the fruit seemed mostly open, this is clearly holding plenty in reserve and on its way to shutting down. Also couldn't help thinking that the tannins may not have been fully ripe. Will hold my remaining bottles the requisite 10-15+ years.
