January 28, 2024 - Garnet. Nose was nonexistent for over 30 minutes, then started to open a bit Best part of this wine. Taste was water for 1 hour then started some after taste. No noted corked smell, but…
January 24, 2024 - Fantastic wine. Nose of cherries and earth. Palate is bright with acidity and pure, crackling red fruit. Tertiary notes are present, but not at the forefront. Medium bodied and oh so easy to drink. Long finish with still a bit of tannic bite. For me, this is in a perfect spot. Makes me really want to catch the first wine at the right moment, which I've not yet managed to do. Thrilled to have 5 more.
October 1, 2023 - flot flot duft, lækker bdx.
August 14, 2023 - Based on the reviews it makes me wonder if the 2 bottles we had were outliers. Not bad but not great. Some funk that blew off after a bit. In its secondary phase with the usual suspects being present but not memorable. Wouldn’t seek this vintage out again based on my experience but would love to try a younger version.
February 14, 2023 - Vert good. Decanted for an hour. Has good future ahead.
December 25, 2022 - Very nice. Perfect pairing with lamb dinner. Thin at the beginning, but deepened to ripe fruit with a dry edge. Wish there was another half a bottle.
November 8, 2022 - Dark ruby in colour, fond nose of sweet black currant fruits, still a touch young on the palate, meaty texture with great substance, drinking very nicely now! No rush of course!
May 8, 2022 - Good bottle, nice fruit complexity, strength en lenght, can still age.
March 5, 2022 - It’s been about a year since I drank a bottle of this, and while I intended to keep this last one for longer, I popped it over the weekend. This bottle was much more ready than the last. Strong earthy funk when we first opened it but 15-20 min and it blew off. Decanted and this started showing nicely after the first 45 min - hour. Dark fruit, not much of the graphite I would expect from St Estephe. Starting to show tertiary flavors but they are subtle. Surprisingly soft mouth feel and pleasant to drink on its own.
February 16, 2022 - Very nice nose of cedar, cigar box, cèpes de Bordeaux, red ripe fruit... Quite light in taste, tannins present, a bit austere, but text book St-Estèphe!
