March 16, 2024 - Deep, dark crystalline ruby. Opened 60 minutes, not decanted. A lot of wine for a Burgundy. Similar to Bordeaux, but easier to match with lots of types of food than a richer Bordeaux. Very nice now. Will be even better in another year.

November 26, 2023 - Light to medium bodied, medium deep color, lighter at rim. Needs another year for my taste. A little volatile acidity, some drying tannins, hint of suavity, sour cherry, at present.

August 23, 2023 - Excellent. Really nice from PnP and over a few hours, with and without food (pan-seared salmon topped with crispy Leek, side fregola with pesto & sundried tomatoes). With time it gets more savory, a hint of soy. Shows a touch of pine forest, ripe cranberry. Lingonberry? I also got some tea leaf and a faint touch of lemon! Some subtle spice. A wine of restraint, it needs a bit of your attention to understand.

March 2, 2022 - My first of 2 btls. Opened 2hrs prior to dinner & decided to slow-ox in my Riedel Burgs & btl the rest of the way. Deep semi opaque ruby color. Aromatic from the get go w/ enticing berry, sense of damp forest floor & spice. Palate is expansive & intense with raspberry, mineral, more spice and again that damp forest floor thing. The forest floor might be attributed to the oak but if so, its a very positive oak thing rather than the masking vanilla I often find in young Jadot reds. This reminds me somewhat of Dujac MSDs. I really dug this tonight. Only knock is the tannins while far from oppressive need a few more years to fully resolve. I really love this producer. A '14 Gevrey Chambertin back in 2020 was also stellar. I also think 2013 might be a sleeper vintage. Said to be from 70yr old vines. 13% alc. 92+

April 5, 2020 - Decanted about 90 minutes. Raspberry, cranberry and loads of black pepper on the nose initially, picked up some green pepper later on. Similar on the palate. Consumed mostly by itself, this really needed food to shine. Too young for my taste at the present, but I'm interested to see how my other bottle fairs in 5+ years - I suspect I will enjoy it significantly more.
