January 26, 2024 - All the classic Barolo notes, but without any particular pizzazz. Warmish, tempting red fruit and some tar, well-balanced and extremely easy to drink, yet no additional complexity, nor the sense of detail required of a top-drawer wine. A smashing match for my burger though!

February 25, 2023 - Balanced with good fruit and a tannic backbone that supports a long lingering finish.

February 1, 2020 - Deep garnet color. Still very youthful, but with appealing notes of black tea, cedar wood, tar, tobacco, sweet spices, plum, menthol, lavender, dark red cherries. It‘s pretty full-bodied, dense and powerful, with medium-high tannin that is excellent quality and silky, it has medium-high acidity and very good length. Such a lovely wine that is full of potential.

May 18, 2018 - PnP- did not expect this to be so wide open right away but it was. Initial nose of charcuterie, herbal notes....not fruit forward. I noticed there were some brown/orange tints on the rim of the glass. Seems like this one is an early maturing wine. I don’t expect this to have much longer of a life left...at most 5-7 years? Today was in a good spot...and to the guests seemed like this was the older one versus a 2004 fontodi Vigna del Sordo Chianti

July 3, 2017 - Uncorked and let sit in a wide bowl for about 2 hours at 60 degrees. Slight Nebbiolo browning at the rim. Very refined bouquet of crunchy red fruit, asphalt, cherry, rose oil, and orange Pez candy. Electric on the palate with gobs of strawberry jam, rhubarb, and hints of toasted oak. Is this red Burgundy in disguise?
Mostly primary fruit at this stage, but the purity and finesse is striking here. Good acidity to hold it together with average back end tannin. Extremely enjoyable now, but I have a sense this is going to shut down shortly and reemerge with great secondary characteristics in 4-5 years. An absolute steal in the $60 range! A wonderfully refreshing young Barolo.1 person found this helpful Comment
