May 19, 2023 - Beautiful wine. Violet, blackberry, and earth onthe nose. I almost think I smell clover, but that doesn’t make sense to me. On the palate, sooo yummy. Smooth rich fruit. Slight on tannins, Flavors of blackberry and blackcurrants. Enjoy!

March 5, 2022 - The initial taste is rather alcohol heavy but after some time in the glass, it has a nice complexity. A good blend of fruit and minerals.

October 30, 2020 - There are many differing opinions of Dave Phinney wines but this one hits the mark. Great cab flavors mid palate and finish with the cab franc offering nice notes up front. Very drinkable now and got better over 3-4 hours so should have at least few cellar years left.

November 23, 2018 - Drank over 2 days. An easy crowd pleaser that appeals to the masses. Also, people love the art work on the bottle which is another conversation starter. On the nose it has lots of alcohol present and oak (that was all I really got on my initial impression). On the palate it felt full bodied, fruit forward, with a decent bit of heat towards the tail end.

Put cork back in and sat at room temperature until the next day where it had much more tertiary characteristics but it kept having a glaring nose of rubbing alcohol. The palate was much more thin, less expressive, and kind of died out - fitting to the art on the bottle.

Overall, this will be an easy crowd pleaser to the masses. If you prefer a more nuanced style - this is not for you.

August 11, 2018 - Dark ruby colored with a generous nose of dark fruit and violets. Very fruity with tastes of cassis, black cherries and vanilla. Medium bodied with a moderate finish. Initially very hot with its high alcohol content, but improved with swirling and long decanting. Always a crowd pleaser.

November 25, 2017 - Good. Still too young; even with a long decant. Try to wait.

August 5, 2017 - Good for the masses. Bold, fruity, lots of rich fruit. Doesn't have the length and depth of a top shelf cali cab but very enjoyable. With the exception of my wine snob friends, I could take this to any party and be a rock star.

October 22, 2016 - A jammy mess, flabby and out of balance.
