November 15, 2022 - My favorite on Shiraz night, including examples from Amon-Ra, Shiraz 9 and Grange. Full bodied (of course) but not overwhelming in alcohol, fruit or tannin. Nice balance. Actually enjoyable beyond the first sip, unlike so many Aussie Shiraz.

September 23, 2019 - No formal notes, but we thoroughly enjoyed this wine and it needed minimal (~30-60 min) decant time to shine. And yes, it got better with more air.

June 26, 2019 - 2 weeks in Australia with a stopover in Singapore; 6/14/2019-7/1/2019 (Singapore, Sydney, Adelaide, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills): Tasted at the winery. Nose of dark fruit, leather, earth and a bit of funk. Still super youthful but the extra 3 years from the '13 are noticeable. Complexities come through on the back palate with loads of black pepper, spice cabinet and earth. Really nice.

June 26, 2019 - Return to Aus; 6/23/2019-7/5/2019 (Adelaide, South Australia wine regions, Tassie, Yarra, etc.): Interesting to try this next to it's younger brother the 2013. Even a few more years in bottle seems to pull these wines together a touch more. This is all red fruits again. There's a bit of a 'prettiness' to it although still a powerful wine. Some nice raspberry. Ripe, but with the acid for balance. We have a bottle and will continue to let it sleep.
