February 11, 2019 - I think wine is a bit under-appreciated, although I fully recognize it is fully, if not over, priced. Straight out of the bottle it's a teeth-staining and decadent-smelling wine, but the palate isn't ready to drink. After about 3 hours, it was in a bit of a dumb phase where it was good, but not great. After 5 hours, it had unfolded into the wine that I paid all the money for. I remember tasting it at the winery upon release and being captivated by all the elements but especially the most wonderful aroma of cantaloupe melon. I look for character and charm like this in all wines, but it is what makes so few truly great wines. Be patient with this everyone. If you must drink one now, if you don't have at least 5 hours to decant, you're not getting what you paid for.

June 17, 2018 - By disappointing especially for the price. Seemed disjointed and was too peppery. No more of this expensive disappointment

December 21, 2017 - Deep, almost opaque in color. Blackberries, black cherries, licorice, and leather in the nose. Black currants, plums, and black cherries in the flavor. Well balanced wine with nice complexity and a long finish. This will benefit from several more years in the cellar.

September 8, 2017 - Produced from a barrel selection from all of their top vineyards, the wine starts off with black and blue, sweet, ripe, juicy fruits, espresso, caramel and a hint of licorice. Fleshy, elegant, soft and polished, which is hard to do, because there is a wealth of fruit here that sticks with you.

July 9, 2017 - Slow oxed for several hours and then decanted for a couple hours and it was still a bit wound up. Restrained fruit with supple tannins and loads of potential in it still.
