Community Tasting Notes 4

September 4, 2021 - Cut and thrust floral/lemon nose. Fresh green apple on the palate. A little terse in mid palate but overall this is a sharp, relatively light bodied Chassagne. Best paired with white fish; this doesn’t have the butter to handle anything fuller. But very fresh and clean.
Score: 91. Relative to expectations: +

May 24, 2021 - This is a terrific Chassagne. There's a floral fragrancy on the nose with a hint of apple too and then comes the palate that's minerally with an incisive backbone of citrus fruit, especially lemon. So fresh even after 8 years in bottle. Excellent intensity, complexity and a persistant finish too. Stylistically it is more Chablis-like than Chassagne, but none the worse for that. Brilliant for cutting through creamy sauces. On this showing it's good for another 3-5 years. Had two bottles with no variation whatsoever. Highly recommended.

May 2, 2020 - Quite nice white chassagne but for a 1er cru I would have expected a little more stuffing and length. The bouquet is dominated by citrus fruits and on the palate its missing some creaminess. Still a very good wine with a bad PQR.

November 20, 2015 - Fat, unctuous, great depth. Needs time to develop.
