    June 20, 2020 - I completely agree with the 95 + ratings. This is an excellent bottle of wine. The 82 is my favorite, the 89 a close second. The 1990 is preferred to the 98 or 2000 at this time in age for me. Above are the vintages I have tried thus far. Note I haven't had a bottle pre dating 82.

    March 11, 2020 - Single Blind 1990 Bordeaux (The Bristol - Chicago, IL): An enchanting nose that is so complex with mature plum, herb, spice and a distinct band-aid note (that is not for everyone). The palate is rich and just beams with complex layers of fruit, tobacco, earth and more. Long, long finish. Guessed LMHB.

    March 4, 2020 - Once again a stunning performance from this wine which remains young but definitely in its drinking window with a good decant (3 hours). It seems to combine the best of both left and right banks in this vintage with great cut and precision but also a voluptuousness and richness that is beguiling. Very layered and fine as it caresses the palate and the finish is so satisfying and complex with notes of Asian spices and scorched earth. At Gramercy Tavern.

    February 15, 2020 - The 1990 La Mission Haut Brion is serious business with a tremendously intense but supremely elegant nose of raspberry, woodsmoke, mineral, and allspice, subtly accented by tobacco and capsicum. Potent, big palate with lots of poise. Totally complete with a gorgeously floral (red rose) finish - what's not to love? 96-97

    February 13, 2020 - Nose: loaded with cherry, raspberry, pie spice, tobacco and baked brick. Deep and nuanced nose at this stage that captivates. Palate: layered and deep with cherry, blackberry, tea, mineral, tobacco and the smoke/brick/clay notes of pessac. Glorious. Finish: resonant floral and red fruited.

    WOTN for me.
