May 2, 2020 - Medium ruby. Berries and slate on the nose. The wine is light-to-medium bodied and dry. The palate features juicy flavors of raspberry, blackberry, plum, dark cherry, and boysenberry. Secondary notes of tobacco, earth, and pepper. Well balanced and still quite drinkable for a 2013. Fantastic QPR with every vintage.
September 22, 2018 - PnP...Excuse me...swist and pour...till drinking quite nicely! A real solid value cellar defender...that just perhaps has earned a promotion into the front line of the actual cellar. Would buy another case.
March 30, 2017 - From a demi. Deep purple, classic nose of a good CDR-village, without any French funk. Not as rich as previous years, but equally delicious. Nice balance of fruit, acid, and tannin. On second night, mellowed substantially to almost an old Bordeaux texture. This is one of the great weeknight bottles to keep around in volume.
March 5, 2017 - Did not decant. Was OK, but might be a bit better if it airs out an hour or two
January 29, 2017 - Continues to be a nice daily drinking Syrah blend.
January 11, 2017 - Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Deep garnet color. Nice nose of white pepper, floral tones, red cherries, pomegranates, dried oregano. Medium-bodied and lifted on the palate, as light red-fruit flavors lead over spices. Finishes quickly with light grip and very low tannins.
November 13, 2016 - One of my favorites - great QPR!
October 29, 2016 - Continue to be delicious. Day 2 was very smooth... reconfirming this is a winner for an everyday wine. Will buy again
October 21, 2016 - Clear, deep garnet color. Aromas of cocoa dust, clove, violets and cassis. Big black cherry fruit on the palate, with secondary anise, cocoa and spice. Shows some alcohol upon opening, but it blew off with air. Rich, full body, medium acid, and broad tannins. Rich fruit and spice on the finish. Solid.
October 2, 2016 - great everyday wine, especially good for non-wine drinkers who don't like big bold cab's
