June 25, 2017 - This was better in its youth, and should have been opened 10 years ago. That said, this is a pretty well-integrated, still developing classic CA pinot. Tannins and acid more balanced, with a bit of astringency more than desirable on the midpalate that lingers through the long finish.

April 22, 2008 - Aroma: Dusty cherry and earth with a hint of the acidic backbone to follow; very nice straight from the bottle.

Flavor: At first opening, surprisingly smooth and rich with cranberry, red cherry, strawberry, and rhubarb playing together, all of which remind me why I like Pinot Noir so much; some decent acidity and tannic activity at first; after an hour, this wine was rich, supple, smooth, and evolved...delicious!

General impression: Clearly I opened the 2005 too soon! After a few years of rest, this 2004 Green Truck is terrific!

February 3, 2007 - Sour cherries with zingy acidity. Very fruit forward with minimal oak present. Works very well with food (wild rice stuffed pork chops and baked squash).

January 27, 2007 - NOSE - hiding alot; muted fruits, plus a little oak, but not giving much away. TASTE - very, very fruit forward on the top, with only a little oak evident; more oak on mid and late palate, with serious, small berries and a good, long finish. RATING - 86.

November 16, 2006 - Excellent color and flavor from a source that was unknown to me until a visit to St Helena Olive Oil Co. (90)

September 24, 2006 - Fruit-forward, but really well structured and not the least bit overbearing. The raspberry flavors are prominent on both the nose and the palate - along with cut grass and violets ending with a slightly spicy finish. This is a very good example of a California Pinot.
