April 18, 2024 - Kenny Chesney put it best, I went to bed at 2 with a 10, and woke up at 10 with a 2.

On open, the nose was inviting and intoxicating, a real 10. An hour later with a double decant, this woke up as a 2. The nose was still a 10, the palate was at best a 2.

Bought direct from Brand and stored properly since. Fuuudddgge!

March 10, 2023 - First of my six-pack. WOW! Dark blue fruit melded with secondary spice and tertiary wood notes that were held together by prominent but not sharp and drying tannins. This wine will continue to deepen and become more complex over the next 10-15 years. I look forward to patiently waiting at least one year before the next bottle to follow this beautiful wine's evolution.

January 2, 2022 - This is a rare 99 point for me. My last notes drinking this wine said to "give it 5 years" - so that was about 5 years ago, and was right on the mark! Much tannin fallout, which is what 2013s need to be successful, but no tannin drying. Just a very silky bottle with well integrated components now. Primarily black fruit still with no tawny whatsoever ( a few of my 2013s are showing signs of tawny, whcih think is too early) - minimal oak, or possibly it was so well integrated I couldn't tell. A special New Years bottle and the wife, who rarely gives over a 92, claimed it as her first 100 point bottle! I'll stick with my 99 though. For those that have this in the cellar it is drinking beautifully now, I really don't think I'd recommend more time (at least for my taste).

October 31, 2019 - Rich powerful mountain fruit with lots of dark plum, cassis and chocolate leading to well integrated tannins
