April 20, 2010 - D'Vine Wine Bar "What a Difference a Year Makes" Tasting (d'Vine Wine Bar - Dunwoody, GA): popped and poured at d"vine wine bar tasting. Strawberry Jam for days...super strong on the nose, and super strong on the palate. I love a big fruit forward wine and this was too over the top for me. No spice, no nothing but big sweet strawberry jam...almost reminded me of a barossa shiraz more than a zin...

December 25, 2008 - Wow,, deep dark color, bouquet, taste that is full of pepper and spices on the front and back end. Also has some hints of vanilla. This is a nice full bodied bottle of wine with a lot of personality, especially at this price point. You won't find much better by dropping only $14.00. Unfortunately have enjoyed and drank up my last bottle.

January 19, 2008 - Deep red color. Spicy, peppery, vanilla aroma. Rich, velvety, taste with hints of mocha and nicely balanced tannins. Interesting and well-balanced, not in your face.

June 26, 2007 - I am glad we purchased this Zinfandel when in Sonoma - it was the lowest priced zin at the tasting, but we clearly preferred it, and now I remember why. Some 7 months later, it has become even more full, and the harshness is almost entirely gone - I'm sure with some time in a decanter it would be fully integrated. For $14.00 I can't imagine a more enjoyable zinfandel - not over-the-top like a Tobin James zin, yet not quite to the refinement of a good Scherrer or Turley zin either. Beautiful finish with strong black fruits and even some mushroom.
