August 26, 2020 - PnP. Light greenish gold. Citrus nose, no butterscotch or tropical notes at all. On the palate this is Chablis-like; very acidic and thin. However, with some air it definitely fills out, but still has an intense phenolic component on the finish which seems out of balance. Not sure where this is going; OK but not as good as I hoped. This has improved substantially with air and time at fridge temperature, fleshed out, developed more fruit, etc. Quite good now.

July 12, 2020 - Starting to deliver on that Real Serious Promise noted 4 years ago. All of the pieces are here... good nose, really good length, mouth full, but still a bit structured for it all. I’d say wait until 2013 to try next, perhaps skipping ahead a vintage or two on the meantime.

February 2, 2019 - Oregon Pinot Noir vs. California Pinot Noir (Minneapolis): Day 1: Solid but not as good as the Drouhin. Oak, carmel, apple, spices and mild oak. As noted on the last bottle this got good on day 3 so we will see with this one. Medium finish. 90 points
Day 2: Good and very similar to day 1. Picks up more Carmel on day 2 and features oak, vanilla, spices and pear. Medium finish. 89 points
Day 3: Definitely faded on day 3. Just does not have much going on. No score.
Recommendation: Based on the decline on day 3 I would say drink these up in the next few years. Drink by 2020.

August 6, 2018 - CSW Class 13 wine of the week

PnP for a Monday night class

-color:a rich golden yellow, a little age and little Barrel time
-Body:by appearance this is a full bodied chard with slow legs, on the palate it’s s medium to medium plus body but it’s balanced with good acidity and a tangible minerality
-Aroma: a rounded rich vanilla and light buttery creme brûlée note but nothing overpowering, a little toastiness, toasted buttery pastry, a roasted golden apple
-Palate: initially butteriness gives way to red apple skin, a little grilled pineapple and lemon tartness, there’s a measured acidity and wet stone character to this wine, medium acidity that carries to an extended citrus finish with a baking spice after effect. This wine has an amazing finish, it lingers for 30+ seconds

February 14, 2018 - 3 Day Wine Reviews that Rock!; 2/12/2018-4/15/2018: Day 1: Tart with oak, spices, nutmeg, lemon and pear. Not the most balanced effort and slightly oxidized. Drinkable but this day 1 impression is saying drink now. Will revisit on day 2. Score withheld.
Day 3: This wine has transformed and confirms that sampling well made wines over several days is rewarding. The oxidized impact is no longer present. Much more fruit with lemon, sour apple, pear and unripe peaches. Nice minerality in this wine and medium to long finish. While I would have been disappointed with the results of a day wine taste of this I am pleased with where this is at. Excellent value for what I paid for this. 93 plus.
