April 16, 2024 - I always seem to underestimate how much air Nebbiolo needs at this age. 3hrs was not enough, probably should've done 8. By day 2 this had such beautiful nose of raspberry, roses, soya, green tea, and pipe tobacco. Palate was silky but still pretty grippy and firm. Shame I only have one 2011, this has much further to develop.

December 23, 2023 - Rose petals, licorice and camphor on the nose. Tart cherries on the palate, good grip, a long finish. Powerful and balanced. Excellent with smoked ribeye roast.

    August 25, 2023 - Medelmörk tegel/ rubin. Halvfeta gardiner (14,5 procent).
Solvarma hallon med ett och annat smultron insmugglat. Plus ett par skedar plommonsylt. Sötaktig blombukett och en pust från en avlägsen nytjärad brygga.
Ganska hög syra, mycket märkbara men välpolerade tanniner. Röda bär, hint körsbär och så igen de där insmugna smultronen. Lite läder. Lång eftersmak med bär och beska.
    Förtjusande!

June 26, 2023 - Decanted and drank at an Italian restaurant. Evolved beautifully over the course of 90 minutes. The wine was in balance and wonderful with food.

April 24, 2023 - Beautiful wine. Decanted for 2 + hrs. Flavors are rich and fruity with some cherry overtones. The wine is smooth and continues that way over a two hour drink.

August 25, 2022 - Något av ett kraftpaket med stor bärig doft och smak. Bra drag i syrorna och med tydliga om än finkorniga tanniner. Resterande flaskor mår nog inte illa av ytterligare några års vila.

June 23, 2022 - Same as last note except two hours in decanter rather then three. “Full but balanced. Cherry, balsamic, earthy and softly integrated tannins.” Superb. Remnants still excellent on night two.

March 18, 2022 - Two 2011 Barbarescos drunk together at home: Drunk over three nights with the Sottimano from Zalto Denk'Art Burgundy glass. Drinking at its best - and its most savoury and secondary - on the third evening. The colour a touch more garnet than the younger, darker ruby looking Currá. On the first night a bright, lifted, largely black fruited aromas: blackberries, black cherries and black plums. Dark chocolate, balsamico and tar and faint red rose perfumes. On the second and third evenings, especially, more truffle, earth and creosote, and less vibrant berry and cherry fruit. More polished and open on the palate than the Sottimano. Depth and concentration. Lovely balance between rich, voluptuous, primary fruit and savoury nuance, with, as noted, the latter accentuated on the third evening. Flavour complexity, with notes matching the bouquet. It may improve with further cellaring, but, as a 2011, I don't expect it to be ultra-long lived. I'd drink over this decade. My favourite of the 2011 Produttori Riservas.

February 20, 2022 - Delicious! Totally lived up to its promise. The lesson is: decant for over 3 hours and it will blow you away. Consume with food obviously.
