October 24, 2009 - Definitely a wine vinified from hot weather grapes. Texas undoubtedly does not provide the best of growing conditions given the unbearably hot summers -- and it shows. Not that it's necessarily bad. It's jut not good.

April 11, 2007 - I agree with others. Great buy for this Texas treat.

March 2, 2007 - Interesting bottle. Extreme aroamatics of cinnamon or red hot candy. Short finish, but above average structure.

January 22, 2007 - Wow - good wine in my own back yard....

There may be some better wines available for $10, but this one is darn good! (and it boasts Texas Terroir, which is worth an extra nod).

I haven't tried it with burgers yet (just enjoying it with some appetizers), but I look forward to it.

I will definitely add this to my "everyday" wine list, as well as use it to entertain out-of-state friends... :-)

December 3, 2006 - Agreed, pleasant surprise and excellent value at $11 (picked up at the vineyard). Easy drinking with hamburgers. Nothing overly complex just 'mmmm...' from all four of us.

August 1, 2006 - I was very pleasantly surprised by this wine. Served at near 60 degrees, it had a rich, peppery aroma that opened up slightly as the wine warmed to about 65. The flavor was unexpectedly full and smooth, well-integrated, and very pleasurable. I'm beginning to think that there is something to relatively lower-alcohol wines. This and the Sangiovese we had the previous night (and also enjoyed very much) were modest in alcohol (about 12.5%). This seemed to make for a wine that was less aggressive on the palate; perhaps the other components need be less obstreperous when placed in a relatively low-alcohol bottle. I'm going to have to try this wine again.
